EPICON Mystery At The Menger Is Nearly Upon Us

Wish I could be in San Antonio at this fun and informative conference over the weekend. Especially as one of my books, A Wedding to Die For, is a finalist as best eBook mystery for 2012.
And it is an honor just to be nominated. The chosen three in each category have been selected out of dozens, if not hundreds, of other books. I am nervous, I am scared, but mostly I am thrilled.
The presentation will begin on Sunday and I wish there was a way I could see the event. Actually, it would be great to be there in person, but you know how that goes. In any event, I am there in spirit and wish everyone a special, wonderful time. To all the nominees in every category, the best of luck. It is truly an honor to have gotten as far as we have!
For those of you curious or interested in EPICON, here is the website: http://www.epicorg.com/epicon-2012.html
Have a fabulous time, everyone!

Heather,
I so wanted to go the year I was nominated, but couldn't afford it. I really wanted to go to RT this year, as I had the pleasure of attending several years ago and it was the best experience ever, but money is still the bottom line. Maybe some day we'll both make it to the same conference and be able to meet in person. I'd like that.

I hope you have someone in line to make your acceptance speech, because if you don't win...something's terribly wrong. *lol* Love ya!

Larry and I will be there - in competition in the same category with you for our mystery "Murder in Paradise." My writing partners and I were thrilled last year when our romance anthology, "Directions of Love," won. And we've been in the finals several times.

We've been EPIC members since 2006 when our first book, "31 Months in Japan: The Building of a Theme Park," was a finalist. I've learned more from this organization than anywhere else about publishing and the state of the business.

As I have for the past five years, I'll be moderating the publishers' panel this year. We'll also be at registration and signing books at the eFiesta.

Whether a reader, author, aspiring author, or other publishing professional, everyone is welcome to join us on the 17th for the eFiesta. We'll be across from the Alamo.

Wish you could be there, too, Heather. Love meeting other authors, especially in the genres in which we write. In fact, Marilyn Meredith is one of my dearest friends, and she also writes mysteries. Thank goodness, she wasn't entered in this category
this year! Oh, and I met her at the first EPICon we attended.

We wish all the finalists good luck. You're right, it IS an honor to be in the finals. We're judged by our peers and other industry professional. And there are large numbers of entrants.

Hope you'll enter again, and maybe we'll meet at the next one! (Hope Ginger can come, too.)

Ladies,
I will miss seeing Heather and Ginger, so sending HUGE hugs. Lorna, you little trouble-maker you, I will give a personal hug next week.

Have the dolls brushed and polished, and my pins honed for poking.

This is honestly one of my very favorite conferences; a fabulous family reunion with family you have the pleasure to PICK!

I wish all the finalists the best of luck!

Looks like I'm going to be the one to represent Muse, then. Heather, you can email me a phone number, and I'll call you when your category comes up. I think I'm going to enjoy this experience, whether I or not I win.

Thank you, Lorna, for your message of good will and support. I look forward to meeting you one of these days, as well. EPIC thrives, I'm sure, because of members such as you and Larry.

Good luck Heather and all. My cover for Shadows Steal the Light (Delilah Stephans artist) is nominated. Oooo... wouldn't it be lovely to have an Ariana for our art department?

Good luck all!

Hooray, I will be there this year, I have a supernatural romance that's a finalist, Lingering Spirit. My publisher is coming too, she the one who entered it. No, I didn't enter either of my mysteries this year, mainly because I doubted I would be going. (ha ha)! Love San Antonio and thrilled to be seeing Lorna and Larry again and other Epic friends.

I too am a finalist in the mainstream category but it's impossible for me to be there. My husband said, "Ask them to do the next conference here in Portugal." Um...I don't think so LOL.
Good luck Heather - we'll both be waiting for the awards to be announced.

This is going to be such fun! Maybe there will be a utube video or something like that for those of us not attending can view! Cyrus will represent our publishing house, Muse, beautifully and the rest of you sound as fortunate. Good will abounds, talent resounds.

I joined EPIC this year and voted for Lea and our books. Too bad you can't conference all of us in, Cyrus. A book of poetry I copy edited for another publisher won, and it was a thrill to have had even a small part in that book.

Acey Deucey, Tinkerbelle and I are crossing our paws and fingers for you, Heather and Cyrus. And for Delilah. We know how great your books and our art department are.
